Need to blow off some steam or just want a bit of fun? Smash Smash turns your Mac into a digital destruction zone. Smash it, scorch it, shoot it, zap it, or drop a wrecking ball and shatter it all!

Smash Smash is the perfect way to unleash some chaos with zero cleanup.

Requires macOS 13.6 or later.

Smash Smash lets you destroy your desktop using tooks like:

🔨 Punch holes in your screen using the hammer.
🔥 Scorch your workspace with the fiery flamethrower.
🔫 Fire rapid shots with the relentless minigun.
🛸 Zap your apps into oblivion using the sci-fi raygun. Pew pew!
🧽 Want a clean slate? Use the window squeegee to wipe away the chaos.
💣 Drop a wrecking ball and watch your desktop shatter like glass.

Smash Smash is inspired by the classic Desktop Destroyer for Windows, the delightfully destructive app you might remember from the 2000s.

I built Smash Smash as a personal project because I loved that silly screen-smashing fun growing up. It’s my way of bringing back a piece of that nostalgia and sharing it with others who remember it fondly, as well as with a new generation who never got to experience it. Smash Smash isn’t a clone or port of Desktop Destroyer. It’s a modern take, designed specifically for macOS.

Screen & System Audio Recording Permission

Upon selecting the Wrecking Ball tool, Smash Smash will request the screen recording permission. Smash Smash needs this permission in order to create the effect of shattering the screen.

You can enable or disable this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording. See the screenshot below for guidance.
